EMT 110: Emergency Medical Technician Fundamentals

This course is designed for students training to become an Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) and prepares the EMT student to provide pre-hospital assessment and care for patients of all ages with a variety of medical conditions and traumatic injuries. Areas of study include an introduction to emergency medical services systems, roles and responsibilities of EMTs, anatomy and physiology, medical emergencies, trauma, special consideration for working in the pre-hospital setting, and providing patient transportation. Successful completion of this course leads to eligibility to take New York State EMT Certification Exams.

EMT 210: Advanced Emergency Medical Technician - Part 1

The Advanced Emergency Medical Technician is responsible for providing essential medical care and transportation to critically ill and emergent patients who require emergency medical attention.  They possess the necessary knowledge and skills to provide basic patient care and transportation.  The Advanced Emergency Medical Technician operates under the guidance of medical oversight and is an integral part of the EMS response team.  They utilize both basic and advanced medical equipment commonly found in an ambulance to perform necessary interventions.  The Advanced Emergency Medical Technician serves as a crucial link between the scene of an emergency and the emergency healthcare system.

Successful completion of AEMT-Part 1 and AEMT-Part 2 of this course leads to eligibility to take New York State AEMT Certification Exams.

EMT 211: Advanced Emergency Medical Technician - Part 2

The AEMT program is divided into two parts, where Part-2 builds upon the knowledge gained in Part-1.  This program provides students with the necessary skills to offer primary and limited advanced emergency medical care and transport critically ill and emergency patients who rely on the emergency medical system.  The course focuses on handling trauma emergencies and special populations.  As an Advanced EMT, you will possess knowledge of both basic and advanced ambulance equipment usage, and your duties will involve caring for critical and emergent patients.  You will receive dispatch calls and be required to provide primary and limited advanced emergency medical care and transportation for patients in critical or emergent situations.  The AEMT program will equip you with the necessary skills to fulfill these responsibilities.

Successful completion of EMT 210-Part 1 and EMT 211-Part 2 of this course leads to eligibility to take New York State AEMT Certification Exams.
