Topics include real numbers (whole numbers, integers, fractions, and decimals), algebraic expressions, linear equations, and an introduction to graphing on the coordinate plane. At the end of the course, students complete a comprehensive departmental final exam to evaluate readiness for introductory algebra. A grade CN or higher is required to pass. NOTE: Students enrolled concurrently in MAT 090 and MAT 098 who withdraw or are involuntarily withdrawn from MAT 098 will also be withdrawn from MAT 090.
