ASL 101: American Sign Language I

This course is an introduction to a novice range of skills in the production and comprehension of American Sign Language (ASL) for students with little or no previous knowledge of ASL. Students will acquire basic vocabulary and fingerspelling skills and will be introduced to the history of ASL and Deaf Culture. The course requires significant practice outside of class, as each class builds on vocabulary and grammatical structures learned in previous classes.
